Mental Health

In conflict-affected populations assessed by WHO/Lancet in 2019, the prevalence of mental disorders was reported to be 22.1% at any given point in time. In Yemen, where there is a substantial need for mental health services, only 120,000 individuals have consistent access to treatment and support. In contrast, an estimated 7 million people in the country need such services.

The ongoing crisis in Yemen has taken a heavy toll on the physical and mental health of the population at large. The prolonged conflict and protracted crisis further aggravate the high demand for mental health services in Yemen.
